Frequently Asked Questions — Dustless Blasting in Abilene, TX
Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers about dustless blasting, pricing, and how our mobile service works. Don't see your question? Call or text (325) 704-0027 — we're happy to talk through your project.
How much does dustless blasting cost in Abilene?
There's no flat rate, because no two jobs are the same — but here's what determines your price: the size of the item, how bad the rust or paint buildup is, how many layers we're cutting through, and whether you want blast-only or blast plus prime and paint. A small utility trailer with light rust is a small job; a 40-foot gooseneck with heavy scaling is a bigger one. Most jobs are priced per project, not per hour. Every estimate is free — text photos of your project to (325) 704-0027 and you'll get a straight number, not a sales pitch.
Will blasting damage my car or metal?
Not when it's done right. The damage people worry about — warped panels, gouged metal — comes from dry sandblasting, where hot, dry abrasive hammers the surface. Dustless blasting mixes water with the media, which cushions the impact and keeps heat down. We also match the media and pressure to the material: aggressive on thick steel frames, gentle on classic car sheet metal and wood siding. Done properly, it's one of the safest stripping methods there is.
Do you come to me, or do I bring my project to you?
We come to you — that's the entire business model. Our rig is fully self-contained with its own compressor, water, and media. Home, ranch, shop, garage, or job site anywhere in Abilene and West-Central Texas: if we can park near it, we can blast it. No towing, no drop-offs, no waiting in a shop queue.
How long does it take to blast a trailer?
Most trailers take half a day to a full day to blast, depending on size and condition — a 16-foot utility trailer with light rust is quick; a 40-foot gooseneck with heavy scale takes longer. If we're also priming and painting, plan on two to three days total including cure time between coats. Either way, it's far faster than a body shop queue, and your trailer never leaves your property.
Do you prime and paint after blasting?
Yes. We offer blast-only, blast + prime, and full blast + prime + paint. We strongly recommend at least priming, because freshly blasted steel can start flash-rusting within hours in Texas humidity. Most customers choose the full package so the project goes from rusted to finished in one visit with one crew.
What areas do you serve?
We're based in Abilene, TX and regularly work across West-Central Texas, including Sweetwater, Snyder, Big Spring, Brownwood, Ballinger, San Angelo, Midland, and Odessa — plus surrounding towns, ranches, construction sites, and oilfield locations. If you're within driving distance and have something that needs blasting, call us.
How do I get an estimate?
Call or text (325) 704-0027. Photos get you the fastest answer: send overall shots of the project plus close-ups of the worst rust or paint, tell us the size and where it's located, and we'll turn around a free estimate — usually the same day. For large industrial or multi-unit jobs, we may schedule a site visit.
What's the difference between dustless blasting and sandblasting?
Traditional sandblasting fires dry abrasive at high speed — effective, but it creates a massive dust cloud, generates heat that can warp thin metal, and leaves a mess. Dustless blasting suspends the abrasive in water, which knocks the dust down at the nozzle, keeps the surface cool, and rinses as it strips. You get the same stripping power with a fraction of the dust, heat, and cleanup.
Do I need to do anything to prepare for the job?
Just give us reasonable access — move vehicles and valuables away from the work area. We handle masking, protection of glass/lights/wiring/tires, containment, and cleanup. It's loud while we're working, so hearing protection is smart if you're nearby, but there's no toxic fume issue.
How soon can you get to my project?
Usually within days, not weeks. Call or text (325) 704-0027 and we'll get you on the schedule. Larger industrial jobs may need a site visit first, which we can typically arrange quickly.
